Last man on the bridge
Last night I saw a Movie played on TV
with Meryl Streep and Clint Eastwood
in a romantic love affair.*
A man meets a woman on a bridge
in the middle of somewhere.
Some dreams come true
only to be in the right place.
He sees the smile in her face
and charmed by the spirit of her flair,
he s falling in love with her.
But sometimes one is too late in life.
She is another man’s wife.
He was her last man on the bridge
everyone has to cross when life shifts
from young to old
and heart grows cold.
He was the last man on the bridge
before time turned the switch.
Leaving what you love
is a journey in a endless train of pain,
and heart bleeds out in thousand leaks.
The movie ends in the last scene,
when fate cuts their line
and they say goodbye for all time.
The camera swings
across the bridge to the horizon,
where the woman stands alone.
A bird in the tree spreads its wings.
A stormy wind blows in the air,
and the river flows on into nowhere.
He was her last man on the bridge
everyone has to cross when life shifts
from young to old
and heart grows cold.
He was the last man on the bridge
before time turned the switch.
Long time ago I loved a woman,
fallen from sky like a bird of paradise
We sailed in summer clouds as butterflies.
But destiny played a dirty game
and she left me for another guy.
I saw the missiles in her eyes,
which darkened my sky
and learnt with the last kiss,
that the tears of a failed love can roar
like a man who grows roses in peace
and reaps bloody death in war.
My heart broke to thousand pieces.
I was her last man on the bridge
everyone has to cross when life shifts
from young to old
and heart grows cold.
I was the last man on the bridge
before time turned the switch.
I’m not Clint Eastwood,
and she’s not Meryl Streep,
but she was made for me.
She left me behind in shame
to live with a no name man
a thousand miles away from me.
One time I saw her on Facebook.
She still looks good.
But at the end of her glory days,
when shadows grow deepen in the face
and darken her mind,
she will be sorrow for passed the time.
I was her last man on the bridge
everyone has to cross when life shifts
from young to old
and heart grows cold.
I was the last man on the bridge
before time turned the switch.
